Welcome everyone to E-27 language arts. This school year student will be doing an array of reading, writing and oral presentations to enhance students overall language arts skills.
As part of a school wide initiative to enhance student achievement students are asked to read on a daily basis. I am asking my students to read for 30 min. or more every day, consecutively or intermittently. Each student will have access to reading logs in class in order to track their progress. Parents are asked to monitor students reading time. See attachment below for reading logs if needed.
Kid Biz (Achieve 3000)
As part of a school wide initiative to enhance student achievement students are asked to read at least 2-3 Kid Biz articles each week with a score of 75% or higher. Students will have opportunities in class to complete theses articles. Each student will have access to Kid Biz logs in class to track their progress. Parents may allow student to complete articles at home for practice. See attachment below for Kid Biz logs.
Language Arts Homework
See student planner for all assigned language arts homework. Students will have daily 30 min. reading as well as reading and writing assignments throughout the week. If time permits students will have an opportunity to complete their homework in class and turn it in. If students are unable to complete their assigned homework at home or in school students are to let the teacher know the reason and the necessary adjustments will be made on a case by case bases.
